When creating web sites, ASP and PHP are very popular languages. Here is my opinion on whether ASP or PHP is the best

ASP v. PHP

ASP and PHP are languages used, to create dynamic Web sites with databases and information interact. ASP (Active Server Pages) from Microsoft and is used with IIS (Internet Information Server) running on Microsoft servers. PHP (Personal Home Pages) by Rasmus Lerdorf, which originally meant the language of analysis, which was later modified by different people. It runs on Unix and Linux servers and it also has a server version of NT.

There are many differences between ASP and PHP.

Costs

To run ASP programs you have IIS on a Windows server which are not free is installed. PHP programs on Linux, which run free. The connection of the database is expensive, in the case of ASP as MS-SQL is a Microsoft product to be acquired. PHP MySQL used in the rule, which is available free of charge.

Speed

If we consider the speed of ASP and PHP compare then has the upper hand. PHP code runs faster than ASP. ASP is based on COM-based architecture that overloading of the server whereas PHP code is built is running in its own memory space.

Platform Compatibility

PHP programs on different platforms such as Linux, Unix, Windows and Solaris whereas ASP is run mainly associated with Windows platforms. However, on an ASP platform with Linux-Apache ASP is installed on the server.

Extras

Many of the tools used in PHP that free and open source PHP code is much, can open-source forum to find. PHP has built-in features such as FTP, e-mail from a web page or encryption mechanisms but in ASP features are not built and a few components are needed. Therefore, create an additional fee for such components.

Base Language

PHP is used on C + + language and syntax-based PHP is quite similar to C / C + +. C / C + + is still considered the best programming language for programmers and people that this language would surely feel more comfortable with the syntax of PHP love. ASP, on the other side has a sort of Visual Basic syntax, which are still closely with Microsoft’s products only in context. So it depends from person to person in a language he or she is comfortable

Database Connectivity

PHP, extremely flexible, can in various databases, the most popular is to connect MySQL. Most ASP using MS-SQL.

Completion

They both have their advantages, especially for users. Some say that both languages have their own importance and depending on the needs of users of the language and platform can be chosen. When we talk about the development of a discussion forum then ASP is equally capable but many feel better on the discussion boards are developed in PHP. If a user is looking for some development of e-commerce, while many would call ASP the ideal choice. This does not mean that PHP can not e-commerce solutions, but only that many people choose ASP.

In my view, is PHP a whole better choice than ASP.
