A key to the Internet and online marketing is to identify your target audience. Who are they, how old they are and, more importantly, where are they located? Used with the advent of advanced software systems for geo-location from Google, we are now able to very specific markets with our online marketing campaigns target. The first step in this process is to review and identify your market with the 3 questions I listed above. Once you have done that, then you should consider the following and respond to concentrate on your target search engines and thus your target audience.

I use the example of a website designer and developer in Melbourne, Australia.

1. The website must be hosted in the country and possibly the town where you plan to target your marketing strategy online.

8. Get listed in local online directories.

9. Use a Google map showing your business. This ensures that your association strengthened in regional search engines.

After doing all these things, your site must be fully focused on identifying your target market. Now you need is your website interesting, sell and do it properly designed to do so.
