Different types of web sites use different styles of navigation, so it probably best to visit, Web pages similar to yours to see where they wanted the navigation structure. The most common locations for your navigation menu are available on the left side or top of the page. As Internet users to a website, they use what is known as a “Z-Scan. When you load a page, scan the most people from the top of the right upper-left corner of the page, then click the lower left corner, and finally the lower right side. So it is logical to look for your navigation in the area where the user will look first.
Smaller sites usually require only a static menu on either the side or top of the page. However, the website from 10 to 15 people on different sides contains require a drop-down menu. These menus can DHTM, _JavaScript or another programming language. When moving the mouse instead of the user to find a main topic category boxes with subcategories for the user to quickly find the information they seek. I f this type of menu is used, it is preferable to the text-based navigation in a different location on the page. Older versions of browsers do not support drop-down menus, and so a small percentage of people can not search your site. Even more important is the fact that search engine is not able to navigate and index your site if there is no navigation in text mode.
Another problem is the accessibility of assistive technologies. For example, Internet users literally blind to read the code of your page. Therefore, if a navigation menu based image or use image maps, use an alternative text to allow the user to the site must. To make things easy, regardless of the type of navigation I choose for the location of a customer, I always include links to text based navigation at the bottom of each page to ensure they are accessible to all Internet users and search engines.
