Web sites are for the public, not for you

It is easy to forget that building a website is a process of finding solutions to problems at your end user (as in, how can my customers find my store? By adding a map on the website). Many people create their website with only their own goals in mind. It is a big mistake. People do not care how your site is clean, or how you developed Flash, or complex JavaScript, you coded by hand. They are always solved their problems in interest, and resolved quickly.

So, here are some tips on how to make sure that your website is based on the objectives of your users. First, know what your goals are the users. Find a selection of people, the typical user and e-mail or call they are. Politely ask the kinds of questions, helpful feedback on their goals when they get to come to your site (for example, what are the three things you do especially if you visit our site?). If you already have a website, they ask, what things have a big challenge to do on the site. This is an ideal opportunity to identify and correct things.

How do you (or update) to your site again to achieve the objectives of the end user in mind and make sure they can get information quickly and easily. Nothing is more annoying than looking for a site that just has what you’re after, then not be able to purchase the item! The process of designing a website is so easy to use, is much more difficult than it first appears. Easy to use, as it is called, is a whole realm of study when it comes to websites. But in general, ensure that users can navigate (ie, click through to) the main features of your website easily. Treat using a free manual for your software shareware? Make sure a link on your navigation bar or less prominently on the homepage. A nice design go hand in hand with ease. However, you’re not an ace in web design, so do not worry. A simple to navigate design, the user to their destination by far preferable is a beautiful site that people can not navigate. So it make it look as attractive as possible, but the ease of use must always come first.

And remember, the page to your audience … not for you.
